Location

Riverbank is a guesthouse situated in the middle of Llanwrtyd Wells - the smallest town in Britain, located half way between Builth Wells and Llandovery and close to the border between Powys and Carmarthenshire. The bed and breakfast hotel overlooks the River Irfon, and the A483, which runs from Swansea to Chester goes right past the front door. We are also a short walk from the train station on the scenic Heart of Wales line which crosses through Mid Wales between Swansea to the south and Shrewsbury to the north. There are several attractive small towns in both directions.

Llanwrtyd sits on the southern edge of the Cambrian mountains, and close to the Brecon Beacons. The environment around Llanwrtyd has particularly clean air and lichen and mosses grow freely in the woodlands that surround the town. The Cambrians mountains are an area of outstanding beauty renowned for their peace and solitude. Here the traveller encounters the home of the Red Kite as it glides over rolling hills.
